Citilink - Baggage Policy

Carry-On Baggage: When traveling with Citilink, the carry-on baggage allowance for Economy Class passengers is limited to 7 kg. On Airbus A320 aircraft, the dimensions of this baggage must not exceed 56 x 36 x 23 cm, while on ATR aircraft, it must be 41 x 34 x 17 cm. In addition to the carry-on baggage, a small personal item (such as a handbag or laptop bag) that can fit under the seat may also be carried, but the total weight must not exceed 7 kg. Checked Baggage: For domestic flights, passengers who purchase tickets through the Citilink website or mobile app, if they are not a LinkMiles member, are entitled to 15 kg of checked baggage. LinkMiles members are entitled to a total of 20 kg (15 kg checked + 5 kg extra) of baggage. Generally, a checked baggage allowance of 10 kg is offered for domestic flights on ATR aircraft. For international flights, usually only a 7 kg cabin baggage allowance is provided, but on some routes, a 20 kg checked baggage allowance is also offered. The weight of a single piece of baggage must not exceed 32 kg, and its dimensions should not be larger than approximately 81 cm in height and 119 cm in width. Special Baggage: Citilink allows the transportation of special items such as strollers and wheelchairs. Foldable strollers can be carried in the cabin if they meet the 7 kg and 56 x 36 x 23 cm limits. Charges and transportation conditions may vary for other special baggage such as sports equipment and musical instruments. For excess baggage, you can purchase additional baggage allowance by paying an extra fee at the airport.

Citilink - Check-in & Seat Selection

Check-in Options: When traveling with Citilink, you can complete your online check-in via the website or the "Citilink" or "BetterFly Citilink" mobile application. Online check-in starts 48 hours before the flight and continues until 30 minutes prior. In some major airports, this period can be extended to 45 minutes. By using the mobile application, you can receive an e-boarding pass after check-in and use it from your phone. Self check-in kiosks and baggage drop counters at the airport typically open at least 3 hours before departure; they close 30 minutes before for domestic flights and 60 minutes before for international flights. Additionally, traditional check-in is also available at airport counters. Seat Selection: At Citilink, seat selection is generally subject to a fee on basic fares. However, passengers purchasing more flexible or specific packages (e.g., Green Eco, Green Plus) can select standard seats for free. Seat selection is offered during online check-in, and passengers can take advantage of premium seat options such as extra legroom or exit row seats. These types of seats are usually offered for an additional fee and can make your journey more comfortable.

Citilink - Meal Service

Citilink Airlines: Due to its low-cost service, meals and beverages are generally provided for a fee in Economy Class. Passengers can purchase snacks and hot/cold beverages by pre-ordering through in-flight sales or the Pre-Book Meals (PBM) system. On long-distance or specific flights, passengers may be offered a simple sandwich or snack along with a cold drink. All meals offered are halal certified, which is a significant advantage for Muslim passengers. Vegetarian options are offered in limited availability through the PBM system, while vegan and kosher options are generally not available. If you have special dietary needs, you can choose from approximately 2-3 categories. Passengers who purchase Business-like premium packages are provided with a more comprehensive set of hot meals and beverages for free. Other passengers can pre-select their menus through Citilink's BetterFly app or website.

Citilink - Loyalty Program

Citilink's loyalty program, LinkMiles, offers various advantages to frequent travelers. To register for this program, Citilink's website or certain membership platforms can be used. With LinkMiles, you can earn miles or points based on your ticket class on Citilink flights; the earning rate is generally higher in higher fare classes. The points you earn can be redeemed for Citilink flight tickets, seat upgrades, extra baggage, and various additional services. The program offers different membership levels such as Basic Member, Silver, and Gold. Higher-tier members can benefit from privileges like priority check-in, extra baggage allowance, and priority boarding. Although Citilink collaborates with its parent company Garuda Indonesia, it operates LinkMiles with an independent structure and works with a limited number of partners.

Citilink - Travel Classes

Economy Light / Super Hemat: This package is one of Citilink's most basic options, offering passengers only cabin baggage allowance. You can generally travel with around 7 kg of cabin baggage. Seat allocation is not provided, and there is no complimentary meal service; however, snack or purchasable food options are available on domestic flights. Changes and cancellations are quite limited and are usually subject to additional fees. Economy Regular / Value: This travel package typically includes a free check-in baggage allowance of 20-23 kg. Discounted or sometimes free options may be offered for seat selection. Additionally, more flexible rights are granted for ticket changes and cancellations, although extra fees and fare differences may apply for these services. Some flights also include light meal service, which can make your journey more comfortable.

Citilink - Cancellation & Changes

Cancellation Policy: At Citilink, cancellation policies vary depending on the fare or package type you purchased your ticket with. Cancellations are generally restricted for promotional and low-cost tickets, while refunds are possible with certain deductions for more flexible packages. A 24-hour free cancellation is not usually a standard practice and is often limited to seasonal campaigns. Therefore, it is recommended to carefully review the cancellation policies when purchasing your ticket. Change Rules: Date and route changes for Citilink tickets can generally be made up to 4 hours before the flight time. Name change options may be limited. During the change process, passengers are typically charged an administrative fee of at least 150,000 IDR, and if applicable, the fare difference between the new ticket and the old ticket is requested. Flexible ticket options may offer fewer restrictions for changes. Refund Process: Refund requests can be made through Citilink's official refund site or via the call center. If the ticket was purchased through Citilink, the passenger must upload their identification and payment documents. The refund process can take anywhere from a few business days to a few weeks, depending on the bank and payment method used. In the case of a no-show, a large portion of the fare may be forfeited for many ticket types; however, some corporate and promotional products may offer an "anti-hangus" guarantee.

Citilink - Seat Comfort & Entertainment

Seat Comfort and Legroom: Citilink's Airbus A320 economy class seats typically offer a legroom of 76-79 cm and a width of 43-45 cm. These seats have a standard recline angle and are covered with fabric material. Passengers traveling in Business Class or with GreenUp options enjoy a wider seat structure with approximately 96-102 cm of legroom and a width advantage of 47-51 cm. These seats provide more recline and comfort, making your journey more enjoyable. In-Flight Entertainment: As a low-cost airline, Citilink generally does not offer personal screens or advanced in-flight entertainment systems on its short-haul flights. Entertainment is mostly provided through announcements and printed magazines. On long-haul flights, when wide-body aircraft are used, there may be a limited number of central entertainment screens and USB/power outlets available at some seats. Wi-Fi service is not provided on these flights, so passengers may prefer to watch their own content on personal devices.

Citilink - Special Services

Unaccompanied Minor Service: Citilink offers a mandatory unaccompanied minor (UM) service for children aged 5-12 and an optional service for those aged 13-16. This service includes a special tracking and accompaniment system to ensure that children can travel safely and comfortably. The details of this service are determined at the time of booking and may be offered for an additional fee. Pregnant Passenger Policy: Pregnant passengers traveling with Citilink are accepted on board with a doctor's report starting from the 32nd week. For those in the 36th week and beyond, more specific health documents may be required for flight permission. In case of unfitness for flight, there is a right to request a refund based on the doctor's report. Assistance for Disabled Passengers: Passengers needing wheelchair or mobility assistance will receive the necessary help from Citilink when they inform about this situation during the booking process. This service can be arranged in advance for easier movement at the airport. Other Services: For passengers traveling with infants, a limited number of baby cradles can be reserved on long-haul flights. VIP/CIP lounge services and greeting facilities are offered through ground services at major airports and are generally subject to an additional fee. Additionally, priority boarding is available for Business Class passengers and participants of certain membership programs.

Citilink - Pet Transport Policy

Cabin Pet Transport: Citilink generally does not allow pets to be transported in the cabin, in line with the common practice of low-cost carriers within Indonesia. Therefore, there is no cabin transport option for small pets. Cargo/Baggage Section Transport: Pets are typically transported in the cargo section, and it is expected that the total weight, including the cage, exceeds cabin standards. In this case, a sturdy and ventilated cage suitable for transporting live animals is required. Required Documents and Rules: When traveling with pets on Citilink, documents such as a health certificate (a veterinary report issued within the last 10-14 days), current vaccination records (especially rabies vaccination), and for international travel, microchip and passport/identity records are required. Special policies may apply for guide and support animals. It is recommended to contact the airline in advance for the reservation process.
