From Airport to City Center
Metro / Light Rail (LRT Taipa Line + Bus Transfer): There is no classic metro in Macau; instead, the LRT (Light Rapid Transit) line operates in Taipa. From the Airport Station at the north exit of the airport, you can reach the Taipa center or Cotai Strip area in about 10–15 minutes via LRT. To reach the historic city center on the Macau Peninsula, you will need to transfer to a bus from Taipa. The LRT Taipa line operates approximately between 06:30–23:15, with services every 5–10 minutes during peak hours. The total travel time from the airport to the vicinity of Senado Square with the LRT + bus combination is between 30–40 minutes.
Bus (AP1 – Barrier Gate / city center connection): The AP1 bus line departs from the airport and heads towards the Barrier Gate border crossing, providing access to the area around Av. de Almeida Ribeiro / Av. Amizade. This area is within walking distance to the city center (Senado Square, historic center). The journey takes 25–35 minutes depending on traffic conditions. AP1 services from the airport operate between 06:00–01:20, with likely intervals of 10–15 minutes during the day.
